The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of access to market information and farmers’ marketing skills on reducing dependence on intermediaries and improving the performance of the agricultural products value chain in Delfan County. In terms of purpose, the research is applied, and in terms of implementation, it follows a descriptive–analytical approach. The statistical population consisted of 22,358 farmers in Delfan County, from which a sample of 383 respondents was selected using Cochran’s formula through simple random sampling.Data were collected using a researcher‑made questionnaire. Its face and content validity were confirmed by experts, and its reliability was verified using Cronbach’s alpha, which was calculated as 0.80 for the entire questionnaire.Data analysis was conducted using a one‑sample t‑test, multiple regression, and the bootstrap method. The results of the one‑sample t‑test showed that the mean scores for market information access(3.802), marketing skills (3.799), reduction of dependency on intermediaries (3.720), and value chain performance (3.822) were all significantly higher than the benchmark value of 3, indicating a favorable status of these variables in the studied population. The results of the multiple regression analysis also revealed that both market information access and marketing skills have a positive and significant effect on value chain performance, and increases in these variables are associated with improvements in value chain performance.Furthermore, based on mediation analysis using the bootstrap method, reduction of dependency on intermediaries plays a significant mediating role in the relationships within the model. The indirect effect of market information access on value chain performance was estimated at 0.214, while the indirect effect of marketing skills on value chain performance through reduction of dependency on intermediaries was 0.157.These findings indicate that improving access to market information and enhancing marketing skills, through reducing dependency on intermediaries, leads to a significant improvement in the performance of the agricultural value chain in Delfan County.
