In recent decades, cities have increasingly faced complex challenges resulting from rapid population growth, changing settlement patterns, and intensified economic and environmental pressures, particularly within geographically hazard prone contexts. Among these challenges, the escalation of carbon emissions as a outcome of urban activities has underscored the necessity for innovative and sustainable urban management approaches. Accordingly, this study aims to examine the economic and institutional resilience of Kerman city in response to carbon related pressures. In terms of purpose, the research is developmental applied, while methodologically it adopts a descriptive analytical approach based on both library research and field surveys. In the first phase, economic and institutional resilience was assessed using a questionnaire survey administered to 380 household heads across different urban areas. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software to evaluate variations in resilience levels among city districts. In the second phase, the spatial pattern of carbon distribution was examined using indicator spatialization through Tracking Analyst Tools within a network analysis framework in the ArcGIS environment. The results indicate that the overall status of carbon related resilience indicators in Kerman city is favorable. However, mean resilience scores reveal spatial differences, with residents of District 2 and District 1 demonstrating higher resilience levels than other districts. Furthermore, findings from Geographically Weighted Regression analysis show that the industries and technology component has the strongest influence on carbon distribution patterns across the city. This variable significantly explains spatial variability in carbon dispersion and highlights its critical role in shaping urban resilience outcomes.
