Abstract
The increasing inclination of Generation Z and Alpha students to launch new businesses and invest in the capital market, despite its considerable growth, has yet to be thoroughly researched. This mixed-methods (sequential exploratory) study aimed to identify strategies to optimize this trend. The qualitative component involved semi-structured interviews with 27 experts, specialists, and students engaged in new businesses and the capital market. The quantitative portion targeted all male and female second-year high school students in Zanjan for the academic year 2023-2024, totaling 18,358 students. From this population, 376 students were selected using stratified random sampling based on the Cochran formula and completed a researcher-designed questionnaire. The data were analyzed using SPSS software. The qualitative findings revealed two strategic levels: macro (governance) and micro (schools and social actors). The quantitative results indicated that all strategies, except for the government's official and genuine support for the capital market and the allocation of resources for promoting investment diversity through schools, were statistically significant (p<0.05) and effective in optimizing students' orientation. Given the involvement of students in the capital market and emerging businesses, implementing these strategies is viewed as an investment in human capital, which can serve as a foundation for developing more comprehensive policy packages and programs in this area. Therefore, it is both appropriate and essential for economic, cultural, and educational planners to collaborate and take necessary actions to enhance these economic activities among students.
